Turning the training into graduate credit
University of Massachusetts Global is the university behind the credit, and it is accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). A teacher who signs up can earn up to four graduate-level semester credits per seminar, though nobody is required to.
Registration forms are handed out at the end of the training. A teacher fills one in and pays the credit fee directly to UMass Global, and that fee is separate from the training cost.
Six months is the deadline for the follow-up practicum, which takes place in the teacher's own classroom. When the practicum is complete, the credit is awarded. For details, contact Howard Barber at hdbarber7@yahoo.com.
